An Italian Artist

Were it only the Art of Living

Valentino Grassi

1952 in Prato, since 2009 together with Mr. Parkinson. He attended the famous Tullio Buzzi Technical Institute of Prato, obtaining a master’s degree in weaving. An entrepreneur in the textile industry until 2001.  Forever a lover of all kinds of sports, with polyhedral art in his DNA, in his family his father left a heritage of paintings and furniture, while distant 1868 marked the birth of his great uncle, Vittorino Grassi from Seano, who was to become a famous composer of organ music and master organ player.

Through is artistic work, Valentino has shown a preference for an ongoing dialogue with the public, with the building of solid and sincere friendships. He has been a member of the Associazione Parkinson of the city of Prato since 2010, holding positions on the executive committee. In the last few years he has promoted events, debates, and concerts, concentrating his efforts on a capillary defence of beauty and a positive lifestyle despite the burdens that come with Parkinson’s, sharing many of his projects with people of the same principles.

A music lover. thanks to his way of “weaving relationships”, over the years he has met Maestros of international fame with whom he has organised concerts in various prestigious venues in Tuscany. Such as in the Sanctuary of La Verna, and the Baptistery of the City of Pistoia, and where he was able to present his ON THE ROAD WITH ART, an itinerant project of artworks with a message aimed at opening the hearts of visitors to hope.

Involved in numerous Onlus Associations, ever since 2012 he has been a member of the international project “10 mountains in 10 years”, where in 2015 he first got to know his friend, Tiberio Roda while climbing to the top of the Mount Etna volcano in Sicily. So many things have been shared this year, the most recent being their participation in the 3rd Word Parkinson Congress in Portland, Oregon where they were both invited as players of Rock Steady Boxing of Indianapolis. Tiberio Roda, a pioneer in bringing this motor activity to Italy, found an avid supporter in Valentino. They were finally convinced to take part in the following 2017 commitment of the “10 m in 10 years” project on MP in an active manner, also involving other friends and possible supporters of the event, so as to leave real signs of how it is possible to live the precious gift of life on a daily basis even when carrying burdens. “Burdens, not suffering…. With training it is possible to bear the suffering that enters into your flesh and never leaves you. That’s where the difference is”..
